Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced In-House General Counsel – Real Estate to serve as a strategic business partner overseeing all legal matters related to real estate transactions, land use, and development. This role is deeply integrated with executive leadership and operational teams, providing practical, business-focused legal guidance that supports growth, risk management, and long-term organizational objectives.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as the primary legal advisor for all real estate matters, partnering closely with executive leadership, development, finance, and operations teams.
- Lead legal strategy for acquisitions, dispositions, leasing, and development projects from planning through execution.
- Draft, review, and negotiate commercial real estate agreements, development contracts, joint ventures, and related transactional documents.
- Oversee legal due diligence, including title, zoning, environmental, regulatory, and compliance reviews.
- Ensure compliance with environmental laws, land use regulations, and applicable federal, state, and tribal laws.
- Manage outside counsel efficiently, including budgeting, strategy alignment, and performance oversight.
- Oversee real estate–related litigation and disputes, setting strategy while coordinating with external counsel.
- Advise on financing matters related to real estate investments and organizational offerings.
- Support estate planning matters related to organizational assets and succession planning.
- Provide professional advice and guidance on HR policies, procedures, and practices to mitigate risk, promote fair and consistent decision-making, and help prevent employment-related legal action.
- Establish and maintain internal policies, contract templates, and compliance procedures.
Requirements
Active member in good standing of The Florida Bar
Preferred Qualifications & Skills
- Significant in-house or senior transactional experience in real estate, development, or corporate law.
- Strong business acumen with the ability to balance legal risk and commercial objectives.
- Experience collaborating across departments and advising non-legal stakeholders.
- Proficiency with LexisNexis, Westlaw, and other legal research tools.
- Excellent drafting, negotiation, and communication skills.
- Prior experience working with or advising landlord with healthcare properties a plus.

Pay: Up to $450,000.00 per year
