Job Summary:
Valudental dba Celebrate Dental & Braces is seeking a General Dentist. The General Dentist is an entry level dentist position that will perform oral examinations, use radiographs to diagnose and treat injuries and malformations of teeth and gums. This position will treat diseases of nerve, pulp, and other dental tissues affecting oral hygiene and retention of teeth. The General Dentist will also perform restorative, preventative, surgical, and routine dental procedures, including fitting dental appliances. This position treats patients of all ages, including pediatric patients. The specific job duties include:
- Examine teeth, gums, and related tissues, using dental instruments, x-rays, or other diagnostic equipment, to evaluate dental health, diagnose diseases, injuries, malformations, or abnormalities of teeth, gums, or related oral structures.
- Upon diagnosis, develop a plan of appropriate treatment for patient's teeth and mouth tissue, including providing preventive or corrective services or treating diseases, injuries, or malformations of teeth, gums, or related oral structures.
- Administer anesthetics to patients, as needed during procedures, such as filling pulp chamber and canal with endodontic materials, pulp capping, removing pulp from pulp chamber, eliminating irritating margins of fillings, correcting occlusions, removing diseased tissue, root canal, and other oral or periodontal surgery.
- Perform dental procedures, including molar root canals, impacted wisdom teeth extractions, periodontal surgeries, and endodontics.
- Write prescriptions for antibiotics or other medications as needed to treat diseases and injuries to the teeth, gums, or related oral structures.
- Clean teeth (simple and deep cleaning) without the assistance of a dental hygienist.
- Apply fluoride or sealants to teeth to prevent tooth decay and/or bleach or polish teeth to restore natural color using hand instruments as needed.
- Counsel patients regarding preventive dental care, the causes and treatment of dental problems, or oral health care services.
- Design, make, or fit prosthodontic appliances (e.g., space maintainers, bridges, or dentures) for teeth or other oral structures and/or write fabrication instructions or prescriptions for denturists or dental technicians when needed.
- Conduct follow-up appointments to evaluate dental treatment plans and to adjust treatment plans if needed.
- Chart notes about each dental visit, provide diagnostic code for insurance claims, respond to requests from insurance providers when needed, and handle paperwork to ensure compliance with dental practices and standards.
The work schedule for the General Dentist is three (3) weekdays per week (7 AM to 7:30 PM, which includes half an hour lunch) plus two (2) Saturdays per month (8 AM to 1 PM).
Requirements:
- Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) or Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) in dentistry from an accredited dental school in the United States.
- Active state of Texas dental license or eligible to obtain state of Texas dental license.
- Must be willing to treat pediatric patients.
- Must be willing to perform simple and deep cleaning without the assistance of dental hygienists.
- Must be willing to perform periodontal surgeries, impacted wisdom tooth extractions, molar root canals, and endodontics.
