Role & Responsibilities:

Diagnose and treat dental disease and educate patients to enable them to develop better oral hygiene regimens.

Perform Clinical duties to the extent of their Dental license which include but are not limited to: Prophylaxis, correcting occlusion, stainless steel crowns, sealants, restorations, extractions, Intraoral and extraoral, hard and soft tissue exams, and cancer screenings.

Skilled with the various instruments and procedures needed to correct and diagnose dental conditions and diseases that enable patients to achieve the best possible outcome and better overall oral health.

Apply preventive treatments such as sealants, SDF (Silver-Diamine Fluoride), and topical fluoride to protect teeth from decay.

Educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques, including brushing and flossing, proper nutrition, tobacco cessation, and motivational interviewing.

Prescribe proper medications to treat dental condition such as prescription toothpaste, antibiotics for infections, and analgesics for pain management.

Administer patients Nitrous Oxide and/or anesthetic prior to treatments.

Order radiographs and be able to diagnose oral pathology from those radiographs.

Keep records relating to the oral health of patients through clinical notes and treatment plans given.

Work collaboratively with the entire dental team to provide the best possible care for the patients.

Qualifications & Education Requirements :

Doctor of Dental Surgery or Dental Medicine (DDS or DMD)

West Virginia State license
-
Have and maintain WV DEA
-
Current BLS
-
Strong computer skills and experience with healthcare databases and applications.

Willingness to comply with all local, state, and federal laws regarding dentistry and health care.

Exceptional inter-personal skills, and the ability to demonstrate empathy, respect, specificity, and genuineness in all interactions with patients, staff, and visitors.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills, ability to keep detailed records.

Comprehensive knowledge of dental procedures, instruments, and diagnostics.
