General Dentist- Supervisory Position

Job Title: Senior Dentist (General Dentist -Supervisory Role)
Compensation: $145,000.00
Report to: Clinical Director, Director of Regulatory Compliance

General Statement of Duties and Responsibilities
Works as a general dentist in a large group setting that services union members, retirees and their families. This position will entail, supervision of union dentists in addition to, full-time direct patient care. The senior dentist will aid in various administrative duties in the absence of the Clinical Director and the Director of Regulatory Compliance.

Also associated with the position is the review and maintainenance of accurate patient and billing records. Working in conjunction with dental specialists and dental hygienist to provide efficient, quality care. Maximizing delivery of patient care with proper scheduling of patients. Enforce JDS’s policies. Administering dental anesthesia as necessary for dental hygiene patients. Screening, evaluating and treating dental emergencies. Training, supervising and evaluating dental assistants. Other duties as necessary. Must alternate work schedule and have Saturday availability.

Qualifications:

- Must have a NYS dental license in good standing
- Minimum of 5 years of clinical experience
- Efficient in the use of electronic medical records and digital radiographs
- Ability to interact with various personnel in a professional manner.
-The ability to treatment plan complex dental cases

Job Description and Duties:

- Delivery of quality dental care
- Full-time direct patient care
- Ensures practice productivity while maintaining quality
- Develops appropriate treatment plans, provides preventative services and patient education.
- Advises in the treatment planning and completion of difficult cases, as needed
- Accurately maintains dental records and medical history of patients
- Aids in ensuring radiation safety and emergency medical kits are maintained
- Review of lab bills and cases
- Oversees proper infection control and sterilization procedures, including biological monitoring of autoclaves, as needed.
- Works directly with TPC to determine patient eligibility prior to initiation of dental treatment
- Maintains patient care standards, complying with regulatory guidelines (NYSDOH, CDC, ADA, OSHA)
- Assistance with administrative duties, administrative time will be provided as needed.
- Assists in management of day-to-day operations at JDS
- Assists with the management of emergency patients and works to accommodate them in the schedule
- Works with supervisors, clinical director and dental center administrators in the management of 153 staff
