Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled General Dentist to join our team on a rural contract basis with the Indian Health Service (IHS). The ideal candidate will provide comprehensive dental care to patients, including preventive, restorative, and surgical procedures. This role requires a strong commitment to patient care and the ability to work effectively in a rural healthcare setting.

Duties

  • Perform general dentistry procedures including dental examinations, cleanings, fillings, extractions, and root canal therapy.
  • Conduct patient assessments and develop individualized treatment plans.
  • Provide pediatric dentistry services with a focus on comfort and education for young patients.
  • Utilize dental software such as Epic, Eaglesoft, and Dentrix for patient management and medical documentation.
  • Maintain accurate medical records in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
  • Implement infection control protocols and aseptic techniques during all procedures.
  • Collaborate with dental assistants in a four-handed dentistry approach to enhance patient care efficiency.
  • Stay updated on dental terminology and advancements in dental practices.
  • Engage in continuous professional development to enhance skills in areas such as prosthodontics, endodontics, and oral surgery.

Skills

  • Proficient in dental office experience with familiarity in various dental software systems (Epic, Eaglesoft, Dentrix).
  • Strong knowledge of dental terminology and medical documentation practices.
  • Expertise in patient care techniques including assessment and management of diverse patient needs.
  • Experience in pediatric dentistry and ability to provide compassionate care to children.
  • Skilled in performing dental extractions, root canal therapy, and other oral surgical procedures.
  • Knowledge of anatomy relevant to dentistry and proficiency in medical imaging techniques.
  • Ability to maintain high standards of infection control within the clinical environment.

Job Types: Full-time, Contract

Pay: $135.00 per hour
