Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled General Dentist to join our team on a rural contract basis with the Indian Health Service (IHS). The ideal candidate will provide comprehensive dental care to patients, including preventive, restorative, and surgical procedures. This role requires a strong commitment to patient care and the ability to work effectively in a rural healthcare setting.
Duties
- Perform general dentistry procedures including dental examinations, cleanings, fillings, extractions, and root canal therapy.
- Conduct patient assessments and develop individualized treatment plans.
- Provide pediatric dentistry services with a focus on comfort and education for young patients.
- Utilize dental software such as Epic, Eaglesoft, and Dentrix for patient management and medical documentation.
- Maintain accurate medical records in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Implement infection control protocols and aseptic techniques during all procedures.
- Collaborate with dental assistants in a four-handed dentistry approach to enhance patient care efficiency.
- Stay updated on dental terminology and advancements in dental practices.
- Engage in continuous professional development to enhance skills in areas such as prosthodontics, endodontics, and oral surgery.
Skills
- Proficient in dental office experience with familiarity in various dental software systems (Epic, Eaglesoft, Dentrix).
- Strong knowledge of dental terminology and medical documentation practices.
- Expertise in patient care techniques including assessment and management of diverse patient needs.
- Experience in pediatric dentistry and ability to provide compassionate care to children.
- Skilled in performing dental extractions, root canal therapy, and other oral surgical procedures.
- Knowledge of anatomy relevant to dentistry and proficiency in medical imaging techniques.
- Ability to maintain high standards of infection control within the clinical environment.
