Key Responsibilities
- Emergency Care: Respond to medical emergencies and provide immediate treatment and stabilization to patients.
- Diagnosis and Treatment: Diagnose illnesses and injuries, and develop and implement appropriate treatment plans and prescriptions.
- Patient Monitoring: Monitor inpatients and ongoing treatments to ensure care continuity.
- Collaboration: Work closely with nurses, specialists, and other healthcare professionals to deliver integrated and high-quality care.
- Documentation: Document patient progress and medical records accurately.
- Shift Management: Oversee medical activities during their shift, ensuring smooth operations and patient safety.
- Consultation: Obtain informed consent, order appropriate referrals and investigations (labs, radiology), and interpret results.
Qualifications and Skills
- Education: A medical degree (MBBS or equivalent) from a recognized institution and completion of a rotating internship or residency program are required.
- Licensure: A valid medical license to practice in the jurisdiction of the facility.
- Clinical Skills: Strong diagnostic and clinical skills are essential for making quick, sound decisions.
- Soft Skills: Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills are necessary for interacting with patients, families, and colleagues.
- Work Environment: The ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment, including night, weekend, and holiday shifts
