This opportunity is ideal for an experienced chess coach or competitive player passionate about teaching students from kindergarten through 12th grade. The role involves working as a Chess Teacher on a contract basis, providing after-school instruction and coaching to young learners. The position offers flexible hours with a commitment of 5-10 hours per week, typically scheduled between 3 PM and 6 PM.

• Primarily based in Washington, DC, with commuting required to multiple campuses across Maryland and Virginia
  
  

Responsibilities

• Teach chess strategies and techniques to students of various skill levels
• Foster critical thinking, problem-solving, and sportsmanship through chess instruction
• Manage after-school class sessions and adapt lessons to meet varying student abilities
• Support chess team participation and facilitate competitive events when applicable
