Company Description

Desert Services is a fast-growing, 25-year site-services provider to Arizona’s construction industry. We’re the one-stop shop for SWPPP, temporary fencing, portable toilets, roll-off containers, street sweeping, water trucks (dust control), and site cleaning. We are looking to grow our SWPPP Department and are looking for a LEAD GENERAL LABORER – SWPPP.

Position Summary:

The SWPPP Lead is responsible for overseeing stormwater compliance work in the field, including the installation and maintenance of SWPPP BMPs (Best Management Practices). This role ensures projects are completed efficiently, accurately, and in full compliance with regulatory requirements. The SWPPP Lead serves as the main point of contact on site and is expected to communicate with supervisors, customers, and internal team members to ensure smooth operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Attend the ECC (Erosion Control Coordinator) class and maintain certification
  • Read and interpret site plans to ensure proper placement and installation of BMPs
  • Always carry valid identification while on job sites
  • Ensure all necessary equipment and tools are on hand before leaving the yard to avoid delays
  • Confirm that all required materials and products (signs, poles, spill kits, socks, fabric, etc.) are available to complete assigned jobs
  • Communicate with Eva to notify when stock is low or depleted before products run out
  • Keep Jayson updated throughout the day with job completions and any jobs that need to be rescheduled, so customers can be notified accordingly
  • Wear proper PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) at all job sites, without exception
  • Contact site Superintendents before arrival and when leaving the job site; obtain signatures if they are present, verifying work completion
  • Accurately count and report fencing and material usage
  • Complete clear, detailed Work Complete sheets outlining what was done on-site
  • Submit all required paperwork and documentation daily
  • Maintain regular and punctual attendance
  • Follow all company safety policies and procedures; prioritize working safely at all times
  • Install SWPPP BMPs correctly and demonstrate knowledge of installation instructions and requirements

· Ad hoc projects and duties as business needs require

Requirements:

  • Previous experience in SWPPP fieldwork or general construction preferred
  • Knowledge of BMP installation and stormwater compliance
  • Strong organizational and communication skills
  • Ability to read site plans and maps
  • Self-motivated with strong time management and problem-solving abilities
  • Physically able to perform outdoor labor in various weather conditions
  • Valid driver’s license; CDL is a plus

Pay: $20.00 - $24.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40.0 per week
