Salary Range: $17 - $23/hour

Job Description: QED Systems, Inc., a ship repair company, has an opening for an individual with at least one year of shipyard or construction experience. The individual will be assisting tradesmen performing repair tasks on U.S. Navy ships.

Job Requirements:

• One year of experience working in shipyards or at construction sites.
• Ability to lift and carry heavy equipment items up to 50 pounds.
• Must have experience using hand tools, power tools, or shop machinery.
• Must have a willingness to learn new trade skills.
• Must be able to work aboard ships and under industrial repair conditions, work in confined spaces, climb vertical & inclined ladders, and follow safety regulations.
• Will be required to wear personal protective equipment (PPE), such as eye protection, hearing protection, and safety shoes.
• Will be required to perform cleaning duties and other duties as assigned by their Supervisor.

Education Requirements: Individual shall have a high school diploma or GED.

Security Clearance/Naval Facility Access: U.S. citizenship required. Must be able to access military facilities, naval shipyards, and private shipyards. Must have a government issued ID card (such as a REAL ID or a U.S. passport or passport card).
