Position Overview

We are looking for a Pipe Laborer who isn't afraid to get their hands dirty. This is a high-intensity, physically demanding role that requires you to work in the trenches to support the installation of storm sewers, sanitary sewers, and water mains. You will be working directly in the Florida heat and mud, ensuring our pipe crews meet project deadlines with precision and safety.

Key Responsibilities

• In-Trench Support: Work inside excavations and trenches to position, align, and join pipe sections (RCP, PVC, Ductile Iron).
• Pipe Strapping: Expertly strap and secure pipe for lifting and placement by heavy equipment operators.
• Manual Labor: Perform heavy manual tasks including hand-digging, shoveling, grading trenches to precise specifications, and backfilling.
• Site Prep: Assist the Pipe Layer in setting up pipe lasers, checking grades, and ensuring the trench is safe and clear of debris.
• Equipment Operation: Safely use power tools, including pipe saws, compactors, "jumping jacks," and various hand tools.
• Maintenance: Keep the job site clean and organized; perform basic maintenance on tools and equipment as directed by the Foreman.

Work Environment (The "Reality" of the Job)

• Labor Intensive: You will be on your feet, bending, kneeling, and lifting up to 50–100 lbs daily.
• The Elements: You will work outdoors 100% of the time. This means dealing with extreme Florida heat, humidity, rain.
• The Trenches: You will be working in deep excavations that can be wet, muddy, and dirty. You must be comfortable working in confined spaces and around heavy machinery.

Requirements

• Experience: Minimum of 1–2 years of experience specifically in underground utility pipe work.
• Skills: Must have proven experience in strapping pipe and assisting in laying water/sewer lines.
• Physical Fitness: Ability to perform strenuous physical labor for 10+ hours a day in high temperatures.
• Reliability: Strong work ethic with a track record of showing up on time every day.
• Safety Mindset: Strict adherence to OSHA trench safety guidelines and company safety protocols.
• Transportation: Must have a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.

Pay: $16.00 - $22.00 per hour
