Responsibilities

• Perform landscape maintenance tasks such as mowing, trimming trees, planting flowers, and gardening to keep parks lush and attractive.
• Operate hand tools, power tools, and small machinery including lawn mowers, trimmers, and excavators to complete various outdoor projects efficiently.
• Conduct routine maintenance on park facilities and equipment to ensure safety and functionality.
• Assist with snow plowing and ice removal during winter months to keep pathways accessible.
• Support tree care activities such as pruning, trimming, planting, and removal using appropriate equipment like chainsaws or pruning tools.
• Help install and repair hardscape features including benches, pathways, fences, and other park amenities.
• Follow safety protocols during all tasks while maintaining a proactive attitude toward environmental stewardship and community service.

Experience

• Prior experience with lawn care, landscape maintenance or gardening is preferred but not required; training will be provided for motivated candidates.
• Mechanical knowledge or familiarity with hand tools, power tools, excavators or other small machinery is advantageous.
• Knowledge of horticulture principles or tree care practices will help in performing specialized tasks effectively.
• Ability to operate equipment such as snow plows or irrigation systems is a plus.
• Strong work ethic with the ability to follow instructions carefully while working outdoors in various weather conditions.
• Basic understanding of construction or hardscape installation is beneficial but not mandatory. This role is perfect for individuals eager to gain hands-on experience in outdoor maintenance while making a positive impact on community recreation spaces!

Pay: $14.00 - $14.05 per hour
