General Laborer/Utility Worker

Summary/Objective: CNS is seeking a General Laborer/Utility Worker to perform landscaping and related services required to maintain safe and attractive grounds.

Duties/Responsibilities:

• Operating an Agricultural tractor with a brush mower.
• Operating a walk-behind mower and string trimmer around street posts and gates.
• May operate small tractors, trucks, and trailers to assist with construction, maintenance, and/or landscape projects.
• Using hand-operated and electric, pneumatic, and hydraulic power tools to assist with construction, maintenance, and/or landscape projects.
Assists in constructing, repairing, maintaining, and inspecting utility piping, cable, conduit systems, appurtenances, utility right of ways, and facilities.

Essential Functions

• Previous experience in landscaping/construction and operating lawn equipment

• Willing to train on tractors

• Good verbal communication skills.

• Basic understanding of groundskeeping and landscaping practices and procedures.

• Ability to work efficiently and thoroughly.

• Ability to follow directions.

• Thorough understanding of how to care for various types of lawns, greenery, and plants.

• Ability to operate various types of power equipment, including lawnmowers, trimmers, hedge trimmers, leaf blowers, and other landscaping equipment.

• Ability to use hand tools required for landscaping.

• Ability to follow instructions and complete assignments.

Physical Demands

• Prolonged periods standing, walking, stretching, bending, climbing ladders, kneeling, and pulling.

• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at a time.

• Must be physically able to operate power equipment.

• Must be able to work in a variety of weather conditions.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:

• This is an hourly paid position from 7:30 am to 4:00 pm Monday through Friday.

Required Education and Experience

• High school diploma

• Drivers License

Work Authorization/Security Clearance (if applicable)

• This position must be able to pass a Federal Background Check.
