General Maintenance Engineer

Basic Function

Reporting to the Engineering Supervisor, this role specializes in painting and carpentry, with a focus on maintaining the facility’s appearance and structural integrity. The position is responsible for performing carpentry work, installing drywall, preparing surfaces, and delivering high-quality painting throughout the Center.

The ideal candidate will bring hands-on expertise in painting, drywall, and general carpentry, with strong attention to detail and craftsmanship.

Responsibilities Painting

• Prepare interior and exterior surfaces for painting by cleaning, sanding, repairing imperfections, and completing drywall installation, patching, and finishing as needed.
• Apply paint and finishes to achieve a high-quality, professional appearance that meets established aesthetic standards.
• Perform touch-ups and repairs to maintain existing paintwork and overall facility appearance.

Carpentry

• Perform general carpentry work, including repairing, building, and installing structures such as doors, frames, cabinets, and trim.
• Measure, cut, and assemble materials according to specifications and project requirements.
• Repair damaged woodwork and structural components as needed.
• Ensure all carpentry work meets safety standards and quality expectations.

Ideal Experience

• Must have a minimum of three years of experience in painting and carpentry
• High School diploma or GED equivalent and the ability to read and write English.
• Strong knowledge Microsoft Office and Office 365.
• Must have the ability to work independently, plan effectively and prioritize
• Must be able to work a flexible work schedule including nights, weekends, and some holidays.
• Eligible to work in the U.S.

Desired Qualifications

• Associate’s degree in relevant field
• Post high school vocational or trade school training in electrical repair
• Must be able to speak English

Physical Demands

• While performing the duties of this position, the employee is frequently required to stop, reach, stand, walk, lift, pull, push, grasp, communicate, and use repetitive motions.
• While performing the duties of this position, the employee may frequently lift and or move 50 pounds of materials.
• While performing the duties of this position, the employee may frequently climb and work from a ladder or lift and/or work in confined spaces.
• The position requires the individual to meet multiple demands from multiple people and interact with the public and other staff.
