General Maintenance Technician

Job Title: General Maintenance Technician

Key Responsibilities

• Perform routine inspections of buildings, equipment, and systems
• Carry out basic repairs in: >Plumbing (leaks, blocked drains, fixtures) >Electrical systems (lights, switches, sockets – basic level) >Carpentry (doors, locks, furniture, minor woodwork) >Painting and wall repairs
• Maintain HVAC systems (basic checks and cleaning)
• Respond promptly to maintenance requests and emergencies
• Install, assemble, and repair furniture or equipment
• Ensure tools and equipment are used safely and stored properly
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of maintenance areas
• Follow health and safety regulations at all times
• Report major repair needs to supervisors or contractors
• Assist with setup for events or room arrangements when required

Required Skills & Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Proven experience as a maintenance technician or similar role
• Basic knowledge of electrical, plumbing, and mechanical systems
• Ability to use hand and power tools safely
• Good problem-solving and time management skills
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
• Physically fit and able to perform manual tasks
• Good communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Technical certification or vocational training
• 2 to 3 years in the same field
• Knowledge of safety standards and preventive maintenance

Work Environment

• Indoor and outdoor work
• May involve lifting, climbing, bending, and standing for long periods
• Occasional emergency or after-hours work may be required

Salary is negotiable and as per interview.
