General Maintenance Technician

A leader in high volume precision turning and machining, is looking for an experienced General Maintenance Technician who is able to handle mechanical and electrical maintenance for our operation. Deals with pumps, motors, controls, pneumatics, plumbing, electrical, HVAC, welding and various facility related repairs and maintenance.

This multifaceted position requires a meticulous and detailed individual who possesses troubleshooting skills to perform various diagnosis on different systems: mechanical, electrical and general facilities, i.e.: plumbing and HVAC.

If it needs attention, we are looking for someone able to open it up, diagnose and assess the problem, then repair it. The ideal candidate must be proactive in attending preventative maintenance, be organized, systematic, able to research through prints, schematics, manuals; determine what is needed and then address the issue.

The General Maintenance Technician is required to follow safety protocols in place. Good attendance is critical.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform preventative maintenance (PM) on machinery, equipment, and facility systems
  • Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems
  • Respond promptly to maintenance requests and equipment breakdowns
  • Inspect equipment and systems to identify potential issues before failure
  • Maintain maintenance logs, service records, and documentation
  • Assist with installation and setup of new equipment
  • Ensure all work is performed in compliance with safety standards and company policies
  • Maintain clean and organized work areas
  • Collaborate with production and other departments to minimize downtime
  • Follow procedures and all OSHA safety guidelines
  • Assist with facility repairs (lighting, plumbing, minor construction, etc.)

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Technical certification or trade school training preferred
  • 2–5 years of maintenance experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems
  • Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals
  • Familiarity with hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment
  • Basic computer skills for maintenance tracking systems (CMMS)
  • Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills

Additional experience preferred includes:

  • 3 years electrical and maintenance
  • 1 year plumbing

Pay: $23.00 - $25.00 per hour
