We are seeking a skilled General Maintenance Technician to join our team! The ideal candidate will possess a strong mechanical and electrical background, with the ability to perform a variety of maintenance tasks to ensure the smooth operation of our facilities. This role requires a hands-on approach, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
Essential responsibilities will include, but are not limited to the following:
- Conduct routine maintenance and repairs on various systems and equipment.
- Utilize mechanical knowledge to troubleshoot and resolve issues efficiently.
- Perform electrical work, including the use of an ohmmeter for testing circuits.
- Fabricate and weld components as necessary for repairs or modifications.
- Install, repair, and maintain plumbing systems, fixtures, and piping
- Diagnose plumbing issues and provide effective solutions
- Execute residential painting tasks to maintain aesthetic standards.
- Work with logic controllers to monitor and adjust system operations.
- Supervise maintenance staff as needed, ensuring adherence to safety protocols.
- Utilize Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) for tracking work orders and inventory management.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of maintenance areas and tools.
Required Education, Experience, Skills and Abilities:
- Experience in Senior Living a plus; At least 6 months’ proven experience in facilities coordination or a related field.
- The ability to work evenings, weekends, holidays, as needed.
- Strong mechanical knowledge with hands-on experience in electrical systems.
- Intermediate hands-on plumbing experience
- Familiarity with ohmmeters and other testing equipment.
- Ability to fabricate and weld metal components effectively.
- Experience in residential painting techniques is preferred.
- Understanding of logic controllers and their applications in maintenance tasks.
- Proficient in using CMMS for effective maintenance management.
- Proficiency with MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and general office equipment.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities.
