General Maintenance Worker - Part Time
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct routine inspections, maintenance, and repairs on facility systems and equipment.
- Perform carpentry, plumbing, electrical, painting, HVAC filter changes, and general repair tasks as assigned.
- Respond promptly to maintenance requests from staff or other departments.
- Complete emergency repairs as needed to ensure safety and continued operations.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, work orders, and equipment status.
- Identify potential safety or maintenance issues and report them to the supervisor.
- Maintain tools, equipment, and workspaces in clean and safe working condition.
- Follow all safety policies, procedures, and industry best practices.
- Assist maintenance team members with projects as required.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- 2+ years of experience in general maintenance or a related field.
- Working knowledge of plumbing, carpentry, electrical systems, and general building repair.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to follow instructions, prioritize tasks, and manage time effectively.
- Ability to pass any federally required background checks (if applicable).
Work Environment:
Employees may be exposed to:
- Loud or noisy environments.
- Outdoor work and varying weather conditions.
- Hot or cold environments depending on maintenance tasks.
- Chemicals, dust, or other irritants associated with maintenance activities.
- Occasional work in confined spaces, elevated areas, or mechanical rooms.
Physical Requirements (with or without reasonable accommodation):
- Ability to push, pull, carry, and lift items up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to stand, walk, and climb stairs or ladders for extended periods of time.
- Ability to bend, stoop, kneel, reach, twist, and work in awkward positions as needed.
- Ability to operate hand tools, power tools, and maintenance equipment safely.
- Ability to work on uneven indoor and outdoor surfaces.
- May be required to use step stools, ladders, or lifts to perform tasks at various heights.
