The Restaurant General Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the restaurant, ensuring exceptional service, quality, and profitability. This role involves managing and coaching staff, maintaining compliance with health and safety regulations, and achieving company objectives in service, quality, and sales.

Managing and Coaching:

  • Schedule, Coordinate, and Appoint: Organize and assign tasks to front-of-house staff to ensure smooth operations.
  • Corrective Action Plans: Administer fair, prompt, and consistent corrective actions for violations of company policies and procedures.
  • Staff Development: Strive to develop staff in all areas, providing training and growth opportunities.
  • Supervise & Motivate Staff: Lead and inspire staff to perform at their best, fostering a positive work environment.
  • Guidelines and Training Programs: Ensure adherence to company guidelines and training programs.
  • Performance Reviews: Complete staff reviews in a timely manner, providing constructive feedback.
  • Passion for Service: Display a passion for service to guests and team members, setting an example for the team.
  • Coaching & Development: Coach and develop the management team, identifying areas for improvement and growth.
  • Staffing Needs: Identify staffing needs, recruit, and select quality candidates.

Process and Procedure:

  • Policy Compliance: Ensure restaurant policies, procedures, and standards are followed at all times.
  • Health and Safety Compliance: Monitor compliance with health, safety, fire, and labor regulations.
  • Sanitation: Ensure restaurant sanitation according to health and safety guidelines.
  • Payroll Management: Monitor payroll and ensure all information is accurate.
  • Payables Management: Monitor all payables to ensure information is correct and invoices are processed timely.
  • Restaurant Procedures: Execute opening, mid, or closing restaurant procedures efficiently. Attends weekly conference call for food & liquor. Follows up on weekly action plan.
  • Inventory Management: Verifies inventory monthly to ensure accuracy and Integrity.

Maintenance and Quality Assurance:

  • Service, Quality, and Sales: Achieve company objectives in service, quality, and sales.
  • Safe Working Environment: Maintain a safe working environment for all staff.
  • Equipment Maintenance: Ensure all equipment is maintained to company standards. Maintenance app is current for all R&M issues.
  • Facility Maintenance: Ensure the facility and outside grounds are maintained to company standards.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:

  • Proven experience as a Restaurant General Manager or in a similar leadership role.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience with inventory management, scheduling, and staff development.
  • Strong knowledge of restaurant operations, financial management, and customer service best practices.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and make data-driven decisions.
  • Passion for hospitality and commitment to delivering an exceptional guest experience.
