Job Description

Directs and coordinates activities of the casino to obtain optimum efficiency and economy of operations and maximize profits by performing the following duties through subordinate supervisors.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities (other duties may be assigned)

  • Plans, develops and implements casino policies and goals.
  • Coordinates activities of all departments to effect operation efficiency and economy.
  • Establishes the budget for approval by the Chief Operating Officer/Chief Financial Officer and meets with them on a regular basis.
  • Carefully monitors flow of revenue and expenditures on a regular basis.
  • Assisted by the Chief Financial Officer, develops and maintains internal controls to ensure the security and integrity of cash handling.
  • Monitors casino procedures to meet the requirements of the Agua Caliente Gaming Commission.
  • Ensures the production of regular and special reports on all aspects of the casino.
  • Overall direction of marketing and promotion programs, including advertising, special events, and complimentary use.
  • Adheres to the policies and procedures for the acquisition, protection, maintenance and disposal of physical assets.
  • Confers with administrative personnel and reviews activity, operating and marketing reports to determine changes in programs or operations required.
  • Directs preparation of directives to department managers outlining policy, program or operations changes to be implemented.
  • Provides excellent guest service to both guest and internal clients.
  • Must adhere to all Tribal Ordinance, Regulations, and the Casino System of Internal Controls, and Standard Operating Procedures.



Supervisory Responsibilities

  • Manages all department Directors, who supervise employees in their respective departments.
  • Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization policies and applicable laws.
  • Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring and training employees; planning, assigning and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Qualifications

Required Education and/or Experience

  • Must possess a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, or a related field; or an equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered in lieu of degree.
  • Minimum of five years of demonstrated, broad based operational success in a Senior/Executive leadership position in Gaming.
  • Must have five years of experience performing full supervision of 10 or more employees.
  • Must have five years of experience performing Administrative and Fiscal management.
  • Must possess demonstrated leadership ability, as well as organizational and strategic agility.

Working Conditions/Physical Demands

To perform this job successfully, the individual must be able to stand, move and work throughout the office area and properties, including walking up to 1 ½ mile, climbing stairs and sitting at a desk/work station for the duration of the shift. Must be able to work in a smoke filled environment.


Typically the individual will be housed in an office environment. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate, but will escalate when located in the casino environment. Must be able to grasp, bend, lift and/or carry or otherwise move goods weighing a minimum of 25 lbs. on an intermittent basis, and sufficient dexterity of hand in order to use office equipment including, but not limited to: a computer keyboard, calculator, general office equipment and multi-line telephone.
