Job Summary: Tamalpais Co-Packing, a division of Rokin Cannabis, is seeking a highly organized and experienced General Manager to oversee day-to-day operations across all departments, including Extraction, Production/Packaging, Inventory, Warehousing, Distribution, and Delivery.
The General Manager will play a key leadership role in building and optimizing operational systems, developing SOPs, managing staff, ensuring regulatory compliance, and driving production efficiency across the facility. This position requires a balance of leadership, process management, and cannabis industry knowledge.
Key Responsibilities:
Leadership & Oversight -
- Oversee daily operations across all facility departments: Extraction, Production, Packaging, Inventory, Warehousing, Distribution, and Delivery.
- Provide leadership, guidance, and accountability for department leads and staff.
- Foster a positive, safety-first, and performance-driven culture that aligns with company values.
- Lead weekly operational meetings to review KPIs, production goals, and compliance updates.
Process & SOP Development -
- Create, implement, and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for all departments.
- Identify workflow inefficiencies and implement process improvements to increase output and reduce waste.
- Collaborate with leadership to standardize documentation for audits, compliance, and employee training.
Staff Management -
- Manage all staffing activities including hiring, training, coaching, performance reviews, and terminations.
- Develop and maintain departmental training programs to ensure staff competency and compliance.
- Build strong cross-department communication and teamwork to ensure consistent execution of production goals.
Facility & Compliance Management -
- Ensure all operations comply with California DCC regulations, METRC, and company policies.
- Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment that meets OSHA and cannabis industry standards.
- Oversee facility maintenance, equipment scheduling, and vendor relations for operational efficiency.
Inventory & Production Control -
- Monitor inventory movement through METRC, Distru, and Nabis to ensure accurate tracking and reporting.
- Work with department leads to forecast production, manage materials, and reduce discrepancies.
- Support implementation of inventory control measures to maintain accurate product and material counts.
Reporting & Performance -
- Develop and track department KPIs, identifying opportunities for continuous improvement.
- Report regularly to executive leadership on facility performance, staffing, compliance, and production outcomes.
- Ensure alignment of facility goals with company objectives and market demand.
Qualifications:
- Must be at least 21 years old.
- High school diploma or equivalent (college or technical training preferred).
- Minimum 5+ years of management experience in manufacturing, production, or cannabis operations.
- Proven leadership experience in multi-department oversight and cross-functional coordination.
- Strong knowledge of California cannabis compliance, METRC, and seed-to-sale tracking systems.
- Working knowledge of cannabis compliance standards (DCC experience preferred).
- Experience with operational software such as Distru, Nabis, LeafLink, or similar preferred.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to perform repetitive tasks with precision and consistency.
- Strong communication and leadership skills with the ability to manage workflow and train others.
- Ability to lead teams in a fast-paced, regulated production environment.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
- Manual dexterity for handling small products and packing materials
- Standing for extended periods in a production environment.
