Now hiring a General Manager for The ChopHouse in Gibbsboro, NJ!!
Position Overview: In this role, you’ll be responsible for managing the daily operations of the restaurant, including the selection, development and performance management of managers and employees. In addition, you’ll make sure that all guests consistently receive an excellent dining experience through high quality food preparation, and service. You’ll oversee our service and culinary managers, as well as be accountable for keeping accurate inventories and ensuring food & labor costs and all expenses are within the restaurant budget.

Reports to: Director of Operations
General Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Oversees and manages all areas of the restaurant, assuming all accountability for the operation.
  • Adheres to company standards and service levels to increase sales and minimize costs, including food, beverage, supply, utility and labor costs.
  • Responsible for ensuring that all financial (invoices, reporting) and personnel/payroll related administrative duties are completed accurately, on time and in accordance with company policies and procedures.
  • Manages daily operation to meet the food and beverage budget; will troubleshoot to resolve excessive costs if budget is exceeded.
  • Enforce sanitary practices for food handling, general cleanliness, and maintenance of kitchen and dining areas. Will uphold all ServSafe guidelines.
  • Ensure compliance with operational standards, company policies, federal/state/local laws, and ordinances.
  • Responsible for ensuring consistent high quality of food preparation and service.
  • Supervise portion control and quantities of preparation to minimize waste.
  • Maintain professional restaurant image, including restaurant cleanliness, proper uniforms, and appearance standards.
  • Ensure positive guest service in all areas.
  • Participates in social media – responds to digital marketing manager requests and collaborates for content generation; for Facebook only – updates location pages, responds to Facebook page communications.
  • Respond to complaints, taking any and all appropriate actions to turn dissatisfied guests into return guests.
  • Ensure that proper security procedures are in place to protect employees, guests and company assets.
  • Ensure a safe working and guest environment to reduce the risk of injury and accidents.
  • Adheres to company systems, i.e. Restaurant 365, Paycor, Aloha, and other technology as appropriate
  • Is responsive to requests made by corporate staff.
  • Ensures in store promotions and merchandising are accurate, updated and appropriately displayed
  • Manage shifts which include: daily decision making, scheduling, planning while upholding standards, product quality and cleanliness; Provide direction to managers & employees
  • Direct hiring, supervision, development and, when necessary, termination of employees.
  • Develop strong engagement and positive morale throughout the team, by providing high energy, timely communication, and ongoing feedback regarding performance.
  • Provide strong presence in local community and high level of community involvement by restaurant and personnel; may tie store events with community outreach
  • Actively programs entertainment and other events in store to drive business and customer engagement
  • Ensures the promotion calendar is updated regularly
Skills & Experience:
  • Must have minimum of 5 years demonstrated experience in successfully managing a fast paced, high volume restaurant and supervisory experience of 2+ managers
  • Proven experience leading a fine dining, high volume restaurant with a strong focus on elevated guest services and hospitality standards
  • Experience collaborating with culinary leadership to successfully execute new programs and special events
  • Proficient in the following dimensions of restaurant functions: food planning and preparation, purchasing, safety & sanitation, security, company policies and procedures, personnel management, P&L analysis
  • Possesses basic computer skills and the ability to work with a scheduling, time and attendance and POS system
  • ServSafe Certification and T.I.P.S or RAMP certification required

Pay: Starting salary range begins at $90,000 annually/ end of range is negotiable based on experience

Bonus Structure Incentive
Quarterly Bonus
  • 10% of base wages earned if EBITDAR budget is attained
  • Plus 5% share in any excess EBITDAR
Annual Bonus
  • 5% of annual salary if annual EBITDAR budget is attained
