General Manager

We are hiring – General Manager (Project) | Mining, Coal

Location: Lignite Project – Lakhpat Punrajpur, Kutchh (Gujarat)

Employment Type: Contract (Long-term)

Role Overview

We are looking for an experienced General Manager – Project to lead large-scale lignite/mining projects . The role involves end-to-end project execution, mining operations management, regulatory compliance, safety, and team leadership at a strategic level.

Key Responsibilities

🔹 Project Planning & Execution

• Plan and execute mining projects from inception to commissioning
• Prepare project plans covering scope, timelines, budgets, manpower, and equipment
• Ensure execution as per approved DPRs and production targets

🔹 Mining Operations

• Oversee overburden removal, lignite extraction, dispatch, and logistics
• Coordinate with contractors, vendors, and internal teams
• Monitor productivity, cost efficiency, and equipment performance

🔹 Financial & Contract Management

• Control CAPEX and OPEX within approved budgets
• Manage contracts, vendor payments, bill certification, and claims

🔹 Regulatory Compliance

• Ensure compliance with Mines Act, MMRD Act, DGMS regulations
• Manage environmental, forest, and labour law compliances
• Liaise with statutory authorities and regulators

🔹 Safety & Environment

• Implement strong safety management systems
• Drive zero-harm culture through audits, training, and risk assessments
• Ensure environmental management and sustainability initiatives

🔹 Leadership & Stakeholder Management

• Lead and mentor mining engineers, geologists, and operations teams
• Manage relationships with government bodies, contractors, and local communities

🔹 Exploration & Production Optimization

• Oversee exploration activities and feasibility studies
• Improve productivity, mineral recovery, and operational efficiency

🔹 Additional Responsibility

• Act as Head of the Mines – Lakhpat Punrajpur Project

Eligibility Criteria

✅ Qualification:

• B.E. / B.Tech in Mining Engineering
• First Class Manager Certificate from DGMS (CMR/MMR)

✅ Experience:

• Minimum 15 years of total experience
• At least 5 years in senior leadership / managerial role in mining projects
