Overview
We are seeking an experienced General Manager to lead our growing Bagel Shop. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in food service management, hospitality, and team leadership. This role requires a hands-on approach to daily operations, ensuring exceptional customer service, efficient food preparation, and smooth management of staff and resources. The General Manager will be responsible for maintaining high standards of food quality, safety, and cleanliness while fostering a positive work environment. Previous experience in quick service or casual dining settings, along with culinary expertise, is highly valued.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily shop operations, including food preparation, inventory control, and customer service
  • Manage staff scheduling, training, and development to ensure high performance and team cohesion
  • Supervise kitchen and front-of-house staff to maintain efficient workflow and excellent service standards
  • Handle POS transactions; manage cash handling procedures accurately
  • Monitor inventory levels, order supplies, and control costs to meet budgetary goals
  • Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and maintain cleanliness standards across all areas
  • Lead shift management activities, including opening and closing procedures
  • Implement training programs for staff on food handling, safety protocols, and customer service excellence
  • Address customer inquiries or complaints promptly to uphold the shop’s reputation for quality service
  • Collaborate with vendors and suppliers to ensure timely delivery of ingredients and supplies
  • Assist in marketing efforts to promote the shop within the community

Skills

  • Proven management experience within the food industry, especially in quick service or casual dining environments
  • Strong leadership skills with experience in supervising teams and conducting interviews
  • Expertise in food preparation, kitchen management, and food safety standards
  • Proficiency with POS systems and cash handling
  • Excellent customer service skills with the ability to resolve issues effectively
  • Ability to manage inventory control, budgeting, and cost analysis
  • Experience in staff training & development as well as operational planning
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $60,000.00 - $78,000.00 per year
