General Manager – Fine Furniture & Interior Design Showroom

Position Overview

Bay Design Store is seeking an experienced General Manager to oversee the daily operations of a high-end furniture and interior design showroom. The ideal candidate will combine strong leadership skills with retail management experience in luxury furniture, interior design, or related industries.

This role requires a professional who can manage staff, support designers, ensure excellent customer service, and maintain operational efficiency in a fast-paced, client-focused environment.

Responsibilities

• Manage the daily operations of the showroom and coordinate activities between the showroom, warehouse, and design team
• Supervise and support sales associates, designers, and administrative staff
• Maintain a high standard of customer service and client experience
• Monitor sales performance and assist the team in achieving monthly and annual goals
• Work with ownership and leadership to implement sales strategies and promotional events
• Coordinate inventory management and merchandise presentation
• Ensure proper follow-up on customer orders, deliveries, and installations
• Support designers with project coordination and client communication when needed
• Maintain organization and professionalism throughout the showroom environment
• Train, mentor, and motivate staff members

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years management experience in furniture retail, interior design, or luxury retail
• Strong leadership and team management skills
• Excellent communication and customer service abilities
• Experience working with designers, custom orders, and furniture vendors preferred
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities
• Strong organizational and problem-solving skills
• Computer proficiency (inventory systems, POS systems, Microsoft Office)
