General Manager - Happy Medium

Happy Medium exists to help people experience art in a fun, low stakes way. The

Front of the House plays a critical role in welcoming our guests and creating

remarkable experiences; (remarkable is defined here as: "worthy of being or likely to

be noticed especially as being uncommon or extraordinary.

We’re looking for a hands-on, people-first General Manager to oversee daily operations across our two New York City locations. You’ll be the connective tissue between our teams and our guests — ensuring both locations run smoothly, our staff feels supported, and every customer leaves with a great experience.

• Recruit, train, and develop a high-performing team across both locations
• Foster a positive, inclusive workplace culture rooted in hospitality values
• Conduct regular 1:1s, performance reviews, and coaching sessions
• Manage scheduling, staffing levels, and conflict resolution

• Champion a consistently excellent guest experience at both locations
• Respond to guest feedback and resolve issues with professionalism and care
• Set and uphold service standards, ensuring the team embodies them daily

• Oversee day-to-day operations at both NYC locations, coordinating between sites as needed
• Maintain facilities to brand standards — managing vendor relationships, repairs, cleanliness, and compliance
• Implement and improve operational systems, processes, and workflows
• Partner with ownership/leadership on budgets, ordering, and inventory management

• 3–6 years of management experience in restaurant or hospitality settings
• Proven ability to lead and motivate teams across multiple locations or departments
• Strong operational instincts with a knack for solving problems on the fly
• A genuine passion for hospitality and delivering exceptional guest experiences
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Comfortable moving between locations and managing competing priorities
• Ability to navigate POS systems, scheduling software, and basic P&L reporting

• Weekend and evening availability 
• Ability to lift 25 lbs 

• Base salary starting at $85,000, commensurate with experience
