General Manager – Logistics & Transport (UAE / Oman Corridor)

About the Opportunity

Our client are launching a new, well-funded logistics and transport business focused on cross-border freight operations between the UAE and Oman.

This is a founding leadership role for an experienced General Manager who can build, operate, and scale a transport business from the ground up.

This is not a corporate admin role — we are looking for a hands-on operator with a strong commercial mindset.

Key Responsibilities

• Set up and manage day-to-day transport operations
• Build and oversee a fleet of heavy vehicles (tractor heads & trailers)
• Recruit, manage, and retain drivers
• Secure and manage freight contracts (UAE ↔ Oman and domestic)
• Ensure high fleet utilisation and operational efficiency
• Control key costs (fuel, maintenance, downtime)
• Implement scalable systems, processes, and reporting
• Deliver consistent monthly profitability and growth
• Weekly Reporting

Performance Expectations

• Achieve and maintain 80–90% fleet utilisation
• Deliver target revenue per truck
• Maintain strong cost control across fuel and maintenance
• Build long-term client relationships and repeat contracts

Requirements (MUST HAVE)

• 5+ years experience in UAE logistics / transport operations
• Proven experience managing fleet operations (minimum 5+ trucks)
• Strong understanding of UAE transport regulations and compliance
• Experience in cross-border freight (UAE ↔ Oman preferred)
• Demonstrated ability to secure and manage client contracts
• Strong operational and commercial decision-making skills

NOT SUITABLE FOR

• Admin-only or coordination roles
• Candidates without hands-on fleet experience
• Candidates without UAE logistics exposure
