Job Title: General Manager (GM) - Sales & Operations

Job Overview:

The Sales GM will be responsible for overseeing the sales strategy and operations across a supermarket chain. This includes driving revenue growth in key product categories such as groceries, Fruits & Vegetables (F&V), household items, staples, processed food, non-food products, and gift items etc. The ideal candidate will lead the sales team to optimize performance, manage inventory, and execute promotional strategies that enhance customer satisfaction and business profitability.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Leadership: Develop and implement sales strategies across multiple product categories to meet business objectives for the chain.
  • Sales Management: Lead, train, and motivate the sales teams in all 6 store locations to drive sales and exceed performance targets.
  • Market & Competitor Analysis: Monitor market trends, competitor activities, and customer feedback to adjust sales strategies and maintain a competitive edge.
  • Inventory and Stock Management: Ensure optimal stock levels of groceries, F&V, household items, processed foods, non-food products, and gift items; collaborate with procurement and inventory teams.
  • Customer Experience: Oversee and ensure high standards of customer service and product availability across all store locations.
  • Promotions & Merchandising: Collaborate with marketing and store operations teams to plan and execute promotions, in-store displays, and seasonal campaigns.
  • Sales Reporting & KPIs: Monitor and report on sales performance, identify trends, and suggest corrective actions as needed to meet revenue and margin targets.
  • Vendor Relations: Build and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers and distributors to ensure product quality and availability.

Key Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Retail Management, or related field.
  • 7+ years of experience in sales or retail management, preferably within the supermarket or grocery industry.
  • Experience managing diverse product categories, including grocery, fresh produce, household, and non-food items.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills with a track record of driving sales growth.
  • Ability to analyse sales data and market trends to make data-driven decisions.
  • Proficient in inventory management, sales forecasting, and budgeting.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.

Preferred Skills:

Experience in multi-store operation management and overseeing sales for a retail chain.

Familiarity with retail management software and CRM tools.

Understanding of the retail supply chain, product sourcing, and merchandising strategies

Pay: ₹40,000.00 - ₹65,000.00 per month
