The Head of Supply Planning is responsible for leading and managing the supply planning process for the organization globally. This role ensures the efficient and effective planning of supply to meet the demands of the market, optimizing inventory levels, and ensuring high service levels. The Head of Supply Planning will work closely with various departments, including manufacturing, procurement, logistics, and sales, to develop and implement supply chain strategies that support the organization's goals and objectives. This role has a direct responsibility to the Global Head of Supply Chain & works closely with the GSO Leadership Team as well as the OU Sales Organization, to develop and implement strategies that align with the long-term goals and optimize business performance. The ideal incumbent will have a deep understanding of the pharmaceuticals industry, strong analytical skills, and a proven track record of strategic leadership.
What to expect:
Strategic Planning:

Develop and implement comprehensive supply planning strategies to ensure optimal inventory levels, meet customer demand, and support business growth.

Collaborate with senior management to align supply planning activities with overall business objectives.
Supply Chain Management:

Oversee the end-to-end supply planning process, including demand forecasting, inventory management, production planning, and procurement.

Ensure timely and accurate supply of products to meet market demand and customer service level agreements (SLAs).
Team Leadership:

Lead, mentor, and develop the supply planning team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and excellence.

Set performance objectives, provide regular feedback, and conduct performance reviews.
Collaboration:

Work closely with manufacturing, procurement, logistics, sales, and marketing teams to ensure alignment and coordination of supply chain activities.

Build strong relationships with key stakeholders, both internal and external, to drive collaboration and achieve common goals.
Performance Monitoring:

Monitor and analyze supply chain performance metrics, identifying areas for improvement and implementing corrective actions as needed.

Utilize data analytics and supply chain software to optimize planning processes and improve efficiency.
Risk Management:

Identify and mitigate supply chain risks, developing contingency plans to address potential disruptions.

Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards.
Continuous Improvement:

Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance supply chain efficiency, reduce costs, and improve service levels.

Stay abreast of industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies to ensure the organization remains competitive.
Essential qualifications, experience, and skills:

Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field. A master’s degree or relevant certification (e.g., APICS, CSCP) is preferred.

Minimum of 18 years of experience in supply planning, supply chain management, or a related field, preferably within the pharmaceutical industry.

Proven experience in a leadership role with a track record of successfully managing and developing high-performing teams.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make data-driven decisions.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate effectively at all levels of the organization.

Proficiency in supply chain planning software and tools (e.g., SAP, Oracle, JDA).

Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Work Environment:

This position is based in an office environment with occasional travel to manufacturing sites, suppliers, and other company locations as required.

The role may require extended hours during peak periods or in response to urgent supply chain issues.
