Job Profile:
- Carry out installation, maintenance, and repair of generator electrical systems including alternators, control panels, automatic transfer switches (ATS), and synchronization systems.
- Perform repair, troubleshooting, and maintenance of GE, SOCOMEC, ABB, and ACB-type ATS systems, including wiring, contactor/ACB mechanisms, and control logic.
- Conduct controller replacement, programming, and configuration for generator control systems (Deep Sea, ComAp, Woodward, etc.).
- Understand and interpret controller and ATS wiring diagrams, perform wiring modifications, terminations, and fault rectification as required.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot electrical faults in generators, control circuits, sensors, relays, and protection devices.
- Conduct testing, calibration, and functional verification of electrical and control components.
- Perform preventive and corrective maintenance (PPM/CM) in line with standard procedures.
- Carry out load testing, synchronization, and commissioning of generators and ATS systems at site or workshop.
- Coordinate with mechanical technicians to ensure full operational readiness of generator sets.
- Maintain accurate records, service reports, and inspection checklists for all activities performed.
- Ensure strict adherence to company safety standards, electrical codes, and QHSE regulations.
- Support senior engineers during project execution, control upgrades, and system modifications.
Qualification and Experience:
- Diploma or Technical Certificate in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
- Minimum 3–5 years of hands-on experience in generator electrical systems (preferably Perkins, Cummins, FG Wilson, etc.).
- Strong experience in ATS systems (GE, SOCOMEC, ABB, ACB-type) — installation, troubleshooting, and maintenance.
- Proficient in controller replacement, wiring, programming, and fault diagnosis (Deep Sea, ComAp, Woodward, etc.).
- Skilled in reading and interpreting electrical and control wiring diagrams.
- Knowledge of generator protection, synchronization, and load management systems.
- Competent in the use of electrical testing tools (multimeter, megger, clamp meter, etc.).
- Basic understanding of mechanical aspects of generator operation.
- Excellent problem-solving, communication, and reporting skills.
- Safety-conscious, disciplined, and capable of working independently or in a team
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with industrial and standby power systems.
- Familiarity with control upgrades, ATS interlocks, and synchronization panels.
- Valid Qatar Driving License (if applicable).
Work Environment:
- Workshop and field-based work (indoor and outdoor).
- May require emergency call-outs, night shifts, or site visits based on operational requirements
