What You’ll Do
- Perform preventative maintenance on residential and light commercial generators
- Diagnose and repair electrical and mechanical issues
- Troubleshoot ATS systems, controls, and engine performance
- Work on natural gas, propane, and diesel standby systems
- Provide accurate diagnostics and clear communication with customers
- Operate independently in the field with strong team support
What You Bring

Technician Levels & Pay
We hire at multiple levels based on experience:
- Tech I: $18-$21/hr (entry-level, trainable)
- Tech II: $22–$27/hr (independent service tech)
- Tech III: $28–$31/hr (advanced diagnostics)
- Tech IV: $31–$35+ (expert-level, leadership)

Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive diagnostics and repairs on generators, including diesel engines and electrical components
- Interpret schematics, technical manuals, and wiring diagrams to troubleshoot complex mechanical and electrical issues
- Conduct routine maintenance such as oil changes, filter replacements, and system inspections to prevent future failures
- Utilize hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and soldering techniques to execute repairs effectively
- Assist with heavy lifting and equipment handling to ensure safety and efficiency during service operations
- Communicate clearly with customers regarding repair procedures, timelines, and maintenance recommendations
- Maintain detailed service records, work orders, and documentation for all performed tasks to ensure compliance and traceability
Requirements
- Proven experience as a service technician in dealership or automotive repair environments with a focus on generator or equipment repair
- Strong mechanical knowledge of diesel engines, heavy machinery, and electrical systems
- Ability to read and interpret schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals accurately
- Hands-on experience with automotive repair tools, power tools, welding equipment, soldering techniques, and hand tools
- Familiarity with Caterpillar or similar heavy equipment brands is highly desirable
- Excellent customer service skills combined with the ability to explain technical issues clearly to clients
- Physical ability to perform heavy lifting tasks regularly and work in various environmental conditions
- Dealership experience or prior work as a mechanic is preferred but not mandatory
- Knowledge of vehicle maintenance practices and experience working with electrical components will be advantageous
