Generator Technician - (Talent Pooling)

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Generator Technician to be based in Abyei-Sudan , preferably an Egyptian national, responsible for the maintenance, repair, and operation of generators across RA’s project sites. This role ensures the reliable and efficient functioning of power generation equipment and plays a vital part in maintaining power supply standards while supporting operational efficiency in our client’s remote and challenging regional environments.

Roles & Responsibilities

• Perform regular maintenance and repairs on generators to ensure optimal performance and reliability.
• Install and commission new generators as required, ensuring they meet industry standards and project specifications.
• Diagnose and repair faults in generator systems, including mechanical, electrical, and control components.
• Develop and implement preventive maintenance schedules to minimize downtime and extend the lifespan of generator equipment.
• Provide constructive inputs on materials and parts ordering to ensure adequate inventory and timely availability of necessary components.
• Ensure all generator operations comply with health and safety regulations, environmental standards, and company policies.
• Monitor generator performance and conduct tests and inspections to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
• Respond promptly to emergencies and breakdowns in generator systems, providing effective solutions to restore power supply.
• Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, inspections, and generator performance. Ensure documentation is up-to-date and accessible.
• Complete necessary reporting, including maintenance logs, parts usage, and operational status updates.
• Identify opportunities for process improvements and assist in implementing changes to enhance system efficiency and reliability.

Qualifications & Requirements :

• Diploma with vocational training and trade certificate in a relevant field.
• Certified license in generator mechanics or related areas.
• Minimum of seven (7) years of experience in a similar role, preferably in remote or challenging environments.
• Experience in the installation, maintenance, and repair of generators.
• Familiarity with preventive maintenance schedules and quality control procedures.
• Proven experience in troubleshooting and emergency response for generator systems.
