Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Genetic Counseling Assistant to support our genetic counseling team in providing comprehensive patient care. The ideal candidate will possess a strong foundation in genetics, excellent communication skills, and a compassionate approach to patient interaction. As a vital member of the team, the Genetic Counseling Assistant will manage administrative tasks, schedule patients, obtain records, and assist in coordinating genetic testing and counseling sessions to ensure smooth clinical operations.
Duties
- Assist genetic counselors by preparing patient materials and organizing clinical documentation for appointments.
- Coordinate scheduling of appointments, follow-up visits, and genetic testing logistics to optimize clinic workflow.
- Maintain confidentiality of sensitive patient information in compliance with privacy regulations.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure quality care and effective communication among staff.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in genetics, biology, health sciences, or a related field; relevant coursework or experience is preferred
- Prior experience in clinical healthcare settings or assisting roles within genetics environments required
- Genetic assistant training program certification preferred
- Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail for managing multiple tasks simultaneously
- Knowledge of medical terminology, genetic testing procedures, and privacy regulations such as HIPAA
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a collaborative team in a fast-paced environment

Pay: From $20.00 per hour
