This role involves fieldwork, data analysis, and collaboration with multidisciplinary teams to
achieve project objectives. The Geologist critical role to study the Earth's materials and
processes to evaluate natural resources, assess environmental conditions, and identify
geological hazards.
Key Responsibilities
Geotechnical Investigations and Analysis
Conduct detailed field surveys, including mapping and geological data collection.
Perform soil sampling, drilling, and in-situ testing to evaluate subsurface conditions.
Prepare Rock Mass Rating (RMR) and other geological assessments as required.
Analyze collected data to provide insights into soil, rock, and groundwater
characteristics.
Project Supervision and Coordination
Supervise geotechnical site investigations, ensuring adherence to project
specifications and safety standards.
Coordinate with project teams, subcontractors, and clients to align fieldwork with
project goals.
Ensure compliance with environmental regulations and geotechnical guidelines.
Documentation and Reporting
Compile detailed reports of geotechnical findings, including site conditions, risks, and
recommendations.
Maintain accurate and organized documentation of field activities, test results, and
correspondence.
Prepare presentations and technical summaries for stakeholders.
Safety and Environmental Compliance
Ensure all field operations comply with safety and environmental protocols.
Identify and mitigate potential risks associated with geotechnical activities.
Qualifications and Skills
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Geology, Earth Science, or a related field.
Experience:
Minimum 2-3 years of experience in fieldwork and geotechnical investigations.
Technical Skills:
Proficiency in geotechnical testing methods and data interpretation.
Knowledge of geological mapping tools, GIS software, and industry-standard
equipment.
Familiarity with relevant safety and environmental regulations.
Soft Skills:
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work in a team and coordinate with multiple stakeholders.
Working Conditions
