We are seeking an energetic and detail-oriented Geospatial Data Analyst to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will leverage your expertise in geographic information systems (GIS), data analysis, and mapping technologies to support environmental projects and infrastructure development. Your work will involve collecting, managing, and analyzing geospatial data to inform decision-making and project planning, ensuring accuracy and efficiency at every step. Responsibilities

  • Analyze, process, and maintain geospatial datasets using ArcGIS and remote sensing imagery to support archaeological, environmental, and cultural resource management projects.
  • Identify, document, and assess archaeological and cultural resource sites using satellite, aerial, and historical imagery, including CORONA, DigitalGlobe, and other remote sensing sources.
  • Create, edit, and maintain GIS databases, shapefiles, and geospatial data layers, ensuring data accuracy, consistency, and compliance with established quality assurance standards.
  • Process, interpret, georeference, and digitize satellite imagery, historical maps, and field-collected spatial data for integration into enterprise GIS databases.
  • Conduct spatial analyses and GIS reviews to support environmental planning and regulatory compliance efforts, including projects governed by the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) and National Historic Preservation Act (NHPA).
  • Collect, compile, and integrate GPS data from Trimble, Garmin, and other field mapping technologies into ArcGIS environments to maintain current and accurate geospatial records.
  • Develop maps, spatial products, and technical reports for project managers, environmental planners, and cultural resource specialists to support decision-making and project execution.
  • Coordinate data management activities across multidisciplinary teams, ensuring effective data sharing, documentation, and workflow consistency.
  • Perform quality control reviews of geospatial and database records, identify discrepancies, and implement corrective actions to improve data integrity.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of data management procedures, geospatial workflows, and documentation standards to enhance operational efficiency.
  • Utilize ArcGIS, ArcMap, ArcInfo, Spatial Analyst, 3D Analyst, Microsoft Office, Adobe Acrobat, and database management software to support geospatial analysis and reporting activities.
  • Review, analyze, and maintain CAD drawings, engineering plans, and design files to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with project standards and data requirements.
  • Perform quality control and quality assurance reviews of CAD deliverables, identifying gaps, inconsistencies, duplicate features, topology errors, missing attributes, and linework discrepancies requiring correction.
  • Verify spatial accuracy, coordinate systems, elevations, and geometric integrity of CAD datasets through comparison with survey data, GPS observations, aerial imagery, LiDAR, and GIS reference layers.
  • Create, edit, and refine CAD linework, features, annotations, and symbology to support engineering, environmental, archaeological, and cultural resource documentation requirements.
  • Evaluate and reconcile discrepancies between CAD drawings, GIS datasets, field-collected information, and as-built documentation to maintain accurate and defensible project records.
  • Convert, integrate, and synchronize CAD and GIS data while maintaining feature attribution, spatial relationships, layer standards, and data integrity across enterprise systems.

Develop and enforce CAD drafting standards, layer naming conventions, file organization protocols, and quality control procedures to improve consistency and operational efficiency.

Experience

  • Proven experience working with GIS software such as ArcGIS or similar platforms
  • Strong knowledge of land surveying techniques and GPS technology applications
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD for drafting and CAD-based mapping tasks
  • Skilled in SQL for database management and Python or JavaScript for scripting automation
  • Demonstrated ability in data visualization and analysis skills for complex geospatial datasets
  • Experience managing relational databases, APIs, and data collection tools like SharePoint
  • Excellent analysis skills with a focus on accuracy, attention to detail, and problem-solving within construction or environmental contexts
  • Leadership qualities with the ability to coordinate projects effectively from inception through completion
