Senior Geotechnical Engineer – Full-Time, On-Site

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Senior Geotechnical Engineer to support a variety of projects that involve ground conditions and foundation planning. This role focuses on understanding how soil and earth materials behave and using that knowledge to help projects move forward safely and efficiently.

In this position, you will lead site investigations, study soil conditions, and apply engineering principles to develop reliable foundation recommendations. You will also prepare technical reports, oversee field and laboratory testing, and provide expert guidance to both clients and internal project teams. The role requires strong project ownership, problem-solving skills, and the ability to collaborate with professionals across multiple disciplines.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and perform site investigations to evaluate soil and subsurface conditions
  • Analyze data collected from fieldwork and laboratory testing
  • Design foundation systems and provide engineering recommendations
  • Prepare clear, well-documented engineering and technical reports
  • Supervise and coordinate field and lab testing activities
  • Provide technical support and guidance to project teams and clients
  • Work closely with engineers from different disciplines throughout project execution
  • Manage multiple assignments while meeting project timelines and quality standards

Qualifications

  • Strong experience with site investigations and soil analysis
  • Solid background in geotechnical engineering and engineering geology
  • Proven experience in foundation design and related structural evaluations
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Civil Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering, or a related discipline
  • Professional licensure (PE or GE) preferred
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills
  • Ability to communicate technical concepts clearly to a non-technical audience
  • Comfortable working independently as well as in a team environment
  • Familiarity with regional geotechnical conditions and regulations is a plus

Pay: $80,000.00 - $125,000.00 per year
