Geotechnical Lab Technician – Construction Materials Testing (CMT)

GEE Consultants, Inc. is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Construction Material Field and Lab Technician to join our team in Addison, TX. This position plays a critical role in the testing and analysis of construction materials to ensure compliance with project specifications, engineering standards, and regulatory requirements. Experience preforming field and in-place soil density testing is a plus. As part of our growing Construction Materials Testing (CMT) division, the successful candidate will be responsible for performing laboratory and field tests on soil, concrete, asphalt, and aggregate materials.

Key Responsibilities

• - Perform standardized tests on soils, concrete, aggregates, and asphalt (e.g., proctor, Atterberg limits, gradations, compressive strength)
• - Maintain detailed records of tests and results in accordance with ASTM/AASHTO standards
• - Calibrate and maintain laboratory testing equipment
• - Prepare samples for or additional testing
• - Assist field technicians or engineers as needed
• - Ensure quality control procedures are followed at all times

Required Qualifications

• - High school diploma or equivalent (associate degree in science/engineering a plus)
• - Prior experience in a construction materials testing lab or geotechnical lab preferred
• - Familiarity with ASTM and AASHTO testing procedures
• - Ability to lift 50 lbs and stand for extended periods
• - Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation

Preferred Certifications (not required but a plus):

• - ACI Concrete Field Testing Technician – Grade I
• - NICET Level I or II in Construction Materials Testing
• - Radiation Safety Training (nuclear density gauge)

Compensation and Benefits

Hourly Pay Range: $16.00 – $24.00 (DOE)
