About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Geotechnical Specialist to provide expert engineering geological and geotechnical input for major underground and infrastructure works. The ideal candidate will bring deep technical experience with tunnels, shafts, TBM (Tunnel Boring Machine) excavation, and SEM (Sequential Excavation Method), along with a proven background working on large-scale PPP (Public-Private Partnership) projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide specialist geotechnical and engineering geological input for tunnels, deep shafts, underground structures, and complex ground conditions.
• Lead geotechnical investigations, interpret ground data, and prepare detailed geotechnical analyses and reports.
• Support design development for TBM and SEM tunneling works, including ground behavior, support systems, settlement assessment, and risk mitigation.
• Review design documents, calculations, and construction methodologies to ensure technical adequacy and safety.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, contractors, and stakeholders throughout the design and construction phases.
• Contribute to risk management, value engineering, and constructability assessments for underground works.

Minimum Requirements

• Minimum 15 years of experience providing engineering geological and geotechnical input for tunnels, shafts, and underground works, including TBM and SEM projects.
• Experience working on at least two PPP projects of similar scope and value.
• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent.
• Professional qualification (CEng, MICE, or equivalent).

Preferred Skills & Attributes

• Strong understanding of geotechnical design principles, ground-structure interaction, and tunneling construction techniques.
• Experience with geotechnical analysis tools and modelling software.
• Excellent communication, analytical, and technical reporting skills.
• Ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary engineering and project delivery teams.
