Gift Shop Clerk (Part-time)

Position Summary

The Gift Shop Clerk is responsible for providing exceptional customer service to patients, visitors, hospital staff, and volunteers. This role supports daily retail operations, maintains merchandise displays, processes transactions accurately, and contributes to a welcoming atmosphere that enhances the overall patient and visitor experience.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Greet and assist customers in a friendly, courteous, and professional manner.
  • Operate POS/cash register and process cash, credit card, and payroll deduct payments accurately.
  • Balance cash drawer at the beginning and end of shifts.
  • Gift wrap purchases as needed.
  • Restock shelves and assist with inventory management.
  • Deliver gifts to staff and/or patients.
  • Take phone orders and check out as necessary.
  • Assist with pricing/tagging new merchandise.
  • Answer questions regarding merchandise, pricing, and gift options.
  • Perform store opening and closing tasks.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and well-stocked store.
  • Provide support to volunteers and delegate tasks as necessary.
  • Assist with seasonal displays and promotional events.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

Required Education and Experience

  • High school diploma or equivalent.

Preferred Education and Experience

  • Previous retail sales experience preferred.
  • Experience with marketing through social medias.

  • Environment: Work is performed primarily inside a central air medical facility.
