We are seeking a detail-oriented and technically skilled GIS Analyst / GIS Specialist to support geospatial data management, mapping, spatial analysis, and visualization tasks. The ideal candidate will be responsible for acquiring, analyzing, and maintaining geospatial datasets, developing maps and spatial products, and supporting decision-making through advanced geospatial techniques. This role involves working with GIS software such as ArcGIS, QGIS, and spatial databases, as well as performing spatial modeling, data integration, and cartographic design.

Key Responsibilities
1. Geospatial Data Management

  • Collect, clean, organize, and maintain geospatial datasets from multiple sources (GPS, satellite imagery, surveys, spatial databases).
  • Update and manage geodatabases, shapefiles, raster datasets, and spatial layers.
  • Ensure data accuracy, completeness, and metadata documentation.

2. Spatial Analysis & Modeling

  • Conduct spatial analyses such as buffering, overlay, network analysis, interpolation, proximity analysis, and terrain modeling.
  • Perform geostatistical modeling using tools like ArcGIS Spatial Analyst or QGIS plugins.
  • Analyze patterns, trends, and relationships using spatial statistics.

3. Cartography & Visualization

  • Design high-quality maps, dashboards, and visualizations for reports, presentations, and decision-makers.
  • Create interactive web maps using ArcGIS Online, Web Apps, or open-source tools (Leaflet, Mapbox).
  • Ensure professional, accurate, and visually clear cartographic outputs.

4. GIS Software & Tools

  • Work with GIS tools including ArcGIS Pro, ArcMap, QGIS, GDAL/OGR, ArcGIS Online, and PostGIS.
  • Automate workflows using scripting languages such as Python (ArcPy, GeoPandas) or SQL for spatial data queries.
  • Integrate external datasets such as remote sensing imagery, LiDAR, CAD files, and field-collected GPS data.

5. Project & Stakeholder Support

  • Collaborate with planners, engineers, environmental scientists, or management teams to support geospatial needs.
  • Prepare technical documentation, analytical reports, and spatial data summaries.
  • Provide GIS support, troubleshooting, and training to internal teams.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in GIS, Geography, Geomatics, Environmental Science, Urban Planning, Geoinformatics, or related field.
  • Proficiency with ArcGIS Pro, QGIS, and spatial data processing.
  • Experience with geospatial databases (e.g., File Geodatabase, PostGIS).
  • Strong understanding of coordinate systems, projections, and geospatial data types.
  • Ability to perform spatial analysis and produce high-quality maps.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Python for spatial automation (ArcPy, GeoPandas).
  • Knowledge of remote sensing and image processing tools (ENVI, SNAP, Google Earth Engine).
  • Experience with web mapping technologies (ArcGIS Online, Leaflet, Mapbox, GeoServer).
  • Familiarity with asset management systems, GPS devices, or mobile data collection tools (Collector, Survey123).
