GIS & AutoCAD Survey Specialist

Job Overview:

We are seeking a highly skilled GIS & AutoCAD Survey Specialist who can efficiently manage, process, and convert survey data into accurate engineering deliverables. The ideal candidate must be equally proficient in GIS digitizing, data handling, and AutoCAD drafting, ensuring seamless integration between spatial data and engineering drawings.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform GIS digitizing and mapping using satellite imagery, drone data, and survey inputs
• Prepare high-quality GIS sheets, layouts, and thematic maps
• Convert GIS data into AutoCAD drawings (DWG format) with proper layering and accuracy
• Handle coordinate systems, projections, and georeferencing
• Manage and process topographic survey, drone, and field data
• Ensure accurate unit conversions (feet ↔ meters) across all datasets and drawings
• Prepare final deliverables including contours, profiles, utility mapping, and layouts
• Maintain data consistency between GIS platforms and AutoCAD
• Coordinate with survey teams to validate and refine spatial data
• Perform quality checks to ensure engineering-grade accuracy

Required Skills & Expertise:

• Strong command of ArcGIS / QGIS (digitizing, georeferencing, spatial analysis)
• Advanced proficiency in AutoCAD / Civil 3D
• Expertise in data conversion (GIS to CAD and vice versa)
• Solid understanding of survey data processing and mapping standards
• Experience with coordinate systems (UTM, WGS84, local grids)
• Ability to handle unit conversions (feet, meters, elevations) accurately
• Familiarity with drone mapping data (orthomosaics, DSM, DTM) is a plus
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy

Preferred Qualifications:

• Degree/Diploma in GIS, Geomatics, Civil Engineering, or related field
• Experience working on topographic surveys, infrastructure, or urban planning projects
• Knowledge of Global Mapper, Civil 3D, or similar tools
