Position Summary

The Glass Technician is responsible for the precise fabrication, installation, maintenance, and repair of various glass products. This role requires a keen eye for detail, a strong commitment to safety protocols, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team to deliver superior results to our clients.

Key Responsibilities

Fabrication & Preparation:

Measure and cut glass to precise specifications using tools like glass cutters, scribes, and computer-aided cutting tables.

Shape, edge, polish, drill, and bevel glass using specialized machinery and hand tools.

Prepare glass for processes like tempering, laminating, or insulating unit (IGU) assembly.

Inspect raw materials and finished products for defects, such as scratches, cracks, or impurities.

Installation & Fitting:

Travel to job sites (residential, commercial, construction sites) to install glass products, including windows, doors, shower enclosures, mirrors, storefronts, and skylights.

Safely handle and maneuver large, heavy, and fragile glass panels.

Fit and secure glass into frames using appropriate clamps, bolts, and sealants.

Apply and tool sealants and glazing compounds to ensure a weather-tight and finished installation.

Repair & Maintenance:

Diagnose issues with existing glass installations.

Perform emergency board-ups and repairs.

Remove and replace broken or damaged glass.

Service and maintain installed glass products.

Safety & Compliance:

Adhere strictly to all company safety policies and procedures, including the use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).

Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment in the shop and on job sites.

Ensure all work complies with relevant building codes, regulations, and quality standards.

Safely operate and maintain company vehicles, tools, and equipment.

Customer Service & Teamwork:

Interact with clients, contractors, and team members in a professional and courteous manner.

Clearly explain work processes and answer client questions.

Work collaboratively with other technicians, helpers, and project managers to complete jobs efficiently.

Qualifications and Skills

Required:

Proven experience (1-3 years) as a Glass Glazier, Glazier Helper, Glass Installer, or in a similar role.

Proficiency in measuring, cutting, and handling various types of glass (e.g., float, tempered, laminated, insulated).

Ability to read and interpret work orders, blueprints, and technical drawings.

Physical strength and stamina to lift heavy objects (50+ lbs), work at heights, and stand for extended periods.

Strong attention to detail and a commitment to quality workmanship.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: AED1,600.00 - AED2,400.00 per month
