As a result of continued growth in our product portfolio, and increased demand in existing and growing channels of distribution, we are seeking a Global Quality Compliance Engineer to create and manage our product quality standards, test protocols and factory audit requirements globally. This position will work closely with our Product Development, Sourcing and Purchasing teams on the front end of new product development initiatives, while collaborating closely with our domestic operations team for product related initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Experience with high volume production across hundreds of products for the retail consumer market.
- Capable of developing test plans, inspection reports, and working with engineers on corrective action plans.
- Ensure the quality programs and policies are maintained and modified regularly.
- Develop and lead cross-functional teams to address and resolve quality issues and to improve levels of quality and productivity.
- Experience working with 3rd party testing labs both domestically and internationally to carry out testing and qualification.
- Guide a team of incoming inspectors to carry out the day-to-day task of inspection received goods and determining whether they comply, need further analysis, or deemed bad.
- Work closely with engineering, sourcing, warehousing staff, and accounting department to rectify any faulty goods, improve any product requirements/documentation.
- Prepares reports and necessary documentation (i.e. non-conformance, corrective actions) and provides to applicable stakeholders.
- Coordination and implementation of needed rework with support from domestic warehouse and ops team members.
Preferred Qualifications:
- 5 years of experience as an engineer and a BS or higher in mechanical engineering.
- Experience with establishing test requirements and standards across multiple product categories, root cause analysis, document control and KPI reporting.
- Experience testing products that are intended for high volume production, preferably in the consumer product industry.
- Experience developing test plans, operating test fixtures, and being hands on with the testing process for both design validation and production quality control needs.
- Experience working with manufacturing outside of the US, particularly Southeast Asia is a plus.
- SolidWorks and experience working in a document control system such as EPDM Vault is a plus.
- Understanding of Metallurgical/plastic properties.
