JOB OPPORTUNITY: General Manager – Plant Operations (Chemical Manufacturing)

Position Overview

A known Chemical Manufacturing Company based in Karachi is seeking an experienced and results-driven General Manager – Plant Operations to oversee and lead end-to-end plant management. The ideal professional will bring extensive technical expertise, strong leadership capabilities, and a proven track record of handling large-scale chemical plant operations.

This is a critical senior leadership role responsible for ensuring high safety standards, operational efficiency, and continuous process improvements.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead complete plant operations including production, process engineering, utilities, maintenance, HSE, and quality control.
• Ensure safe and efficient running of the chemical plant while achieving production targets.
• Develop and implement operating procedures, SOPs, and preventive maintenance strategies.
• Oversee process optimization, troubleshooting, and root-cause analysis of chemical manufacturing lines.
• Ensure compliance with all environmental, safety, and chemical handling regulations.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance productivity, cost efficiency, and reliability.
• Manage, mentor, and develop technical and operational teams to achieve performance excellence.
• Prepare and manage plant budgets, production forecasts, KPIs, and performance reports.
• Collaborate closely with Supply Chain, Quality Assurance, and R&D for process improvements and new product development.

Required Qualifications & Experience

• B.E. Chemical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering (Chemical preferred).
• 20+ years of experience, with strong experience in technical & management Skills.
• Minimum 5 years in a senior leadership role heading full plant operations.
• Strong understanding of chemical processes, utilities, safety protocols, and regulatory requirements.
• Proven experience in managing high-volume, continuous production facilities.
• Excellent leadership, problem-solving, and team development skills.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: Rs300,000.00 - Rs500,000.00 per month
