Role Overview

SocialHook is building the next-generation social media platform — dynamic communities, AI-powered personalization, creator monetization, and viral cultural loops.

As a Founding Full Stack Developer, you will architect, build, and scale both the backend (Golang) and frontend (React Native) while setting up robust server-side infrastructure and DevOps. You’ll be a core force in building SocialHook’s foundation from the ground up.

Key Responsibilities

Backend Core (MANDATORY: Golang)

• Architect and develop APIs, microservices, and backend systems exclusively in Go (no Node.js).
• Design for high concurrency, performance, and scalability.

Frontend (React Native)

• Work with the React Native team to integrate backend services.
• Capable of handling basic frontend fixes, testing, and integrations when required.

DevOps & Infrastructure

• Set up and manage AWS infrastructure (EC2, S3, RDS/Postgres).
• Containerize applications (Docker), implement CI/CD pipelines.
• Monitor, optimize, and secure the platform for scale.

Auth & Security

• Implement OAuth 2.0 flows, JWT sessions, and API security best practices.

AI-Powered Features

• Integrate open-source AI tools for recommendation systems, content tagging, moderation, and personalization.

Scaling Systems

• Architect for rapid growth from 1M → 10M users with optimized infra cost and high reliability.

Code Quality

• Maintain clean, documented, and scalable code with unit testing and reviews.

Required Skills

Backend Expertise

• Golang (mandatory) — production-grade APIs, concurrency models, microservices.

Frontend Skills

• React Native basics — integration, debugging, minor feature handling.

DevOps & Infra

• AWS (EC2, S3, RDS/Postgres, MongoDB on Wasabi/Self-Host).
• Docker, Terraform (or IaC mindset), CI/CD pipelines.

Databases

• PostgreSQL (primary), Redis (caching), MongoDB (secondary optional).

Queue & Event Systems

• Kafka or other message brokers.

Monitoring & Reliability

• Sentry, Prometheus, Grafana (or open-source equivalents).

Authentication

• OAuth 2.0, API tokens, session management.

AI Productivity

• Must be skilled with AI-assisted development tools (Cursor, CodeRabbit, Codium).
