Golf Course Maintenance Worker

Overview

Albuquerque Country Club is seeking motivated and dependable Greenskeepers to join our golf course maintenance team. This position is responsible for maintaining high quality playing conditions and contributing to the overall appearance and playability of the golf course. We are looking for individuals who take pride in their work, pay attention to detail, and are willing to learn and grow in a professional golf course environment.

Duties

Maintain and care for the golf course’s greens, fairways, tees, and roughs using hand tools, power tools, and specialized landscaping equipment

Perform regular irrigation system checks and adjustments to ensure optimal watering schedules for healthy turf growth

Conduct routine landscape maintenance tasks such as mowing, edging, fertilizing, aerating, and topdressing to promote lush turf conditions

Assist with gardening activities including planting new grass, shrubs, flowers, and other landscaping features to enhance course aesthetics

Use various hand tools and power tools safely and efficiently for repairs, trimming, and general upkeep of the course environment

Support overall land management by performing lawn care tasks and ensuring proper drainage and soil health

Collaborate with team members to execute maintenance schedules and respond promptly to any course-related issues or emergencies

Requirements

Prior experience or knowledge in horticulture, landscaping, or groundskeeping is preferred but not mandatory; willingness to learn is valued

Familiarity with irrigation systems and landscape maintenance techniques is a plus

Ability to operate hand tools, power tools, lawn mowers, trimmers, and other gardening equipment safely

Strong attention to detail with a proactive approach to turf care and land management

Physical stamina to stand, walk, bend, lift heavy objects, and perform outdoor tasks in various weather conditions

Excellent teamwork skills with a positive attitude towards maintaining high standards of course presentation

A genuine interest in gardening, landscaping, or horticulture is highly desirable
