GPR Scanning Engineer / Concrete Scanning Specialist

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled and experienced GPR Scanning Engineer to operate advanced concrete scanning equipment, including Proceq GP8000 and Hilti PS 1000.

The candidate will be responsible for conducting on-site scanning, interpreting data, and preparing professional technical reports for construction and infrastructure projects in Qatar.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate GPR scanning equipment (Proceq GP8000 & Hilti PS 1000)
• Perform concrete scanning to detect:
• Rebar
• Post-tension cables
• Electrical conduits
• Voids and embedded objects
• Conduct site surveys before core cutting or drilling
• Analyze scan data and produce accurate reports with drawings
• Mark scanning results clearly on-site for contractors
• Coordinate with contractors, consultants, and project engineers
• Ensure compliance with Qatar construction standards & safety regulations

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in:
• Civil Engineering / Structural Engineering / Geophysics (preferred)
• Minimum 2–3 years experience in:
• Concrete scanning / GPR survey
• Experience working in Qatar or GCC projects (highly preferred)

Required Skills & Knowledge

• Strong knowledge of:
• Concrete structures & reinforcement
• GPR technology and interpretation
• Hands-on experience with:
• Proceq GP8000
• Hilti PS 1000
• Ability to read and understand:
• Structural drawings
• Shop drawings
• Software/reporting skills:
• AutoCAD (for marking scans)
• MS Excel / Word (for reports)
• Good communication in English

Reporting Responsibilities

The engineer must prepare:

• GPR scan reports with:
• Marked drawings
• Depth analysis
• Findings summary
• Site photos and scan images
• Recommendations before drilling/cutting

Additional Preferred Skills

• Experience in:
• Core cutting / drilling coordination
• NDT (Non-Destructive Testing)
• Knowledge of:
• Construction safety procedures
• Qatar Driving License (preferred)
