The Grade 1 Homeroom Teacher is responsible for delivering engaging and age-appropriate instruction in core subjects including English, Math, Science, and Social Studies. The teacher creates a safe, supportive, and stimulating classroom environment that fosters academic, emotional, and social development in young learners.
Key Responsibilities:
- Instructional Duties:
- Plan and deliver daily lessons according to the curriculum.
- Use a variety of teaching methods to meet the needs of diverse learners.
- Foster literacy, numeracy, and inquiry-based learning.
- Integrate technology and hands-on activities to enhance learning.
- Classroom Management:
- Establish clear expectations for behavior and routines.
- Maintain a positive and inclusive classroom environment.
- Use positive discipline techniques and conflict resolution strategies.
- Student Development:
- Monitor students’ progress and adapt instruction accordingly.
- Support students’ emotional and social development.
- Encourage independence, cooperation, and respect among students.
- Assessment and Reporting:
- Conduct formative and summative assessments.
- Maintain accurate records of student performance.
- Prepare report cards and attend parent-teacher conferences.
- Communication and Collaboration:
- Communicate regularly with parents about student progress.
- Collaborate with other teachers, specialists, and school leadership.
- Participate in staff meetings, training sessions, and school events.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Education (preferably in Early Childhood or Elementary Education).
- Valid teaching certification/license.
- Minimum 1–2 years of relevant teaching experience (preferred).
- Proficient in English (spoken and written).
