Job Description: Grade 1 Teacher

Position: Grade 1 Class Teacher

Classes: Grade 1

Experience Required: Minimum 2–3 years of experience in teaching early primary classes

Roles & Responsibilities:

• Serve as the class teacher for Grade 1 students.
• Teach core subjects including English, Mathematics, and EVS as per the curriculum.
• Build strong foundational skills in literacy, numeracy, and life skills.
• Plan and deliver engaging, activity-based, and child-friendly lessons.
• Use teaching aids, manipulatives, worksheets, and digital tools effectively.
• Assess student progress through continuous and formative assessments.
• Identify learning gaps and provide remedial support.
• Maintain student records, lesson plans, and assessment documentation.
• Foster a safe, caring, and disciplined classroom environment.
• Encourage positive behaviour, values, and social skills.
• Communicate regularly with parents regarding academic and developmental progress.
• Participate in school events, training programmes, and staff meetings.

Required Qualifications:

• Graduate (any discipline).
• D.Ed / D.El.Ed / B.Ed
• Training or experience in early primary pedagogy preferred.

Desired Skills:

• Strong communication skills in English (and regional language, if applicable).
• Child-friendly, patient, and nurturing approach.
• Creativity in lesson delivery and classroom activities.
• Good classroom management and observation skills.
