Elementary Teacher 2026-27 School Year

JOB TYPE:
Full-time 24-36 hours per week
REPORTS TO:
Assistant Principal
POSITION SUMMARY:
The Elementary Teacher will create a positive and conducive learning environment for academic, social and emotional growth. The teacher will provide the educational leadership and management necessary to administer lesson planning, implementation, and assessments to provide effective classroom instruction. Serves as a dedicated and passionate professional who wants to provide students with an exemplary, college-preparatory education.
QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Bachelor’s degree in the area of Elementary Education
2. Teaching Certification (preferred)
3. A passionate commitment to improving learning for all students
4. Demonstrated positive interpersonal relationships
5. Evidence of ability to establish positive working relationships with all stakeholders
6. Superior verbal and written communication skills
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Teaches ELA (reading, writing, listening, speaking) social studies, mathematics, science, and life/learning skills to students in a classroom, aligned with the Florida Common Core Standards.
2. Creates a welcoming and positive classroom climate and culture.
3. Exhibits a commitment to the school’s mission and vision.
4. Develops lesson plans and instructional materials and provides individualized and small group instruction in order to adapt the curriculum to the needs of each student.
5. Translates lesson plans into learning experiences so as to best utilize the available time for instruction.
6. Exhibits an understanding of literacy development for elementary students and articulates and utilizes research based instructional strategies and methods appropriate for various grade levels.
7. Establishes and maintains standards of student behavior needed to achieve an effective learning atmosphere in the classroom.
8. Evaluates students’ academic and social growth, keeps appropriate records, and prepares report cards and other necessary documentation to report student growth and achievement.
9. Integrates school improvement goals into the classroom.
10. Maintains student classroom records using current district technology and expectations.
11. Communicates with parents through conferences and other means to discuss curriculum, assessments, and student progress.
12. Identifies student needs and collaborates with other professional staff members in assessing and helping students address social, emotional and academic issues.
13. Creates an effective and welcoming environment for learning through functional and attractive displays, instructional materials, bulletin boards, and websites.
14. Maintains professional competence through in-service education activities provided by the district and self-selected professional growth activities.
15. Utilizes age and content appropriate aids; maintains required inventory records.
16. Provides supervision and oversight to students throughout the assigned work day.
17. Administers standardized and local assessments in accordance with the district assessment program.
18. Participates in parent teacher conferences and sets up additional parent meetings as needed.
19. Maintains availability to students before or after school for additional support or tutoring.
20. Attends weekly staff meetings and monthly professional development.
21. Serves on a minimum of two committees and participates in monthly meetings before or after school.
22. Contributes to extra-curricular activities such as clubs, academic competitions and school programs.
23. Consistently demonstrates high moral, ethical, and professional standards of performance and personal integrity, which includes addressing problems and issues in an open, honest, and timely manner.
24. Promotes ongoing positive communication with parents and community agencies, effectively involving them in the education of children.
25. Nurtures a school environment that celebrates, respects, and values diversity, where teaching and learning are made relevant and meaningful to students of various cultures.
26. Participates in curriculum development programs as required.
27. Performs other duties as assigned.

Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $23.00 - $29.00 per hour
