We are seeking a dynamic and dedicated Grade 7 & 8 Homeroom and English Language Arts and Social Studies teacher to inspire and empower middle school students. This role offers an exciting opportunity to develop engaging curricula, foster critical thinking, and support student growth through innovative instructional strategies. Duties

  • Design and implement comprehensive lesson plans aligned with curriculum standards in English Language Arts (ELA) and Social Studies for grades 7 and 8.
  • Develop engaging instructional materials utilizing learning technology tools to enhance student understanding and participation.
  • Conduct assessments, including standardized testing preparation, to monitor student progress and tailor instruction accordingly.
  • Mentor students by providing academic advising, behavior management support, and personalized tutoring to meet diverse learning needs.
  • Collaborate with colleagues on curriculum development, instructional design, and research initiatives to improve teaching practices.
  • Manage classroom environments effectively through classroom management techniques, lesson planning, and differentiated instruction for students with special education needs or in Montessori or other specialized programs.
  • Engage in ongoing professional development related to literacy education, linguistics, math integration, creative writing, higher education teaching strategies, and library services.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Education, English, Social Studies, or a related field;
  • Proven classroom experience teaching middle school students in grades 7 and 8 with a focus on ELA and Social Studies.
  • Strong knowledge of curriculum development standards across literacy education, history/social sciences, math integration, and instructional design principles.
  • Experience working with diverse learners including those requiring special education accommodations or in private school settings.
  • Excellent communication skills for working with students, parents, colleagues, and community partners.
  • Organizational skills necessary for lesson planning, classroom management, research projects, standardized testing preparation, and educational administration tasks.
  • Knowledge of learning technology tools such as digital platforms for instruction and assessment.

Pay: From $42,500.00 per year
